Embrace the Goshen Factor Below are the scriptures and notes for the sermon. Gen 8:21-22 (ESV) Believe for the best, expect the worst It was the best of times it was the worst of times Radical opposites occurring simultaneously Goshen Factor A principle I have observed throughout scripture. It is a demonstration of God’s ability to protect and provide for His people in stringent and lean seasons of circumstances no matter what. It can apply to individuals, families and nations. It is the distinction that God makes between His people and the world, providing for them when others don’t even see the provision. The tale of two kingdoms "Everything in Christ is getting better and better, everything outside of Christ is getting worse and worse." —Rufus Mosley "Until one is committed there is hesitancy, the chance to draw back, always ineffectiveness. Concerning all acts of initiative (and creation), there is one elementary truth, the ignorance of which kills countless ideas and splendid plans: that the moment one definitely commits oneself, Providence moves too. All sorts of things occur to help one that would never otherwise have occurred. A whole stream of events issues from the decision, raising in one's favor all manner of unforeseen incidents and meetings and material assistance, which no man could have dreamt would have come his way." "Are you in earnest? Seize this very minute. Whatever you can do, or dream you can, begin it. Boldness has genius power and magic in it. Only engage and then the mind grows heated, Begin and then the work will be completed." —W.H.
